Role Description

Job title: Member of the People Department 

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract 

Duration: From March 2024 until the end of the project in December 2027  

Team size: To be determined in the course of the work 

The People department (PEO) serves as the foundational pillar for all people-related activities, ensuring that the Jamboree has a motivated, skilled, and cohesive team.
Main functions of the People department are recruitment (talent sourcing, recruitment process, onboarding of new volunteers), organizing and managing meetings for the Jamboree Planning Team, trainings (training needs analysis, training delivery, promoting a culture of continuous learning), volunteers support (support systems, recognition and rewards, wellbeing, community building).

For applicants based in Poland, the following criteria apply:

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP).
  • Completion of leader’s service in the previous year, accompanied by an endorsement from the relevant Regional Commissioner or the Chief Commissioner.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

For international applicants, the criteria are as follows:

  • Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
  • A favourable opinion from the competent International Commissioner.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Positive experience of projects at national level

Commitment  

Member of the People Department will be expected to: 

  • Attend Department Team Meetings – one meeting in person a year and regular, monthly virtual meetings.  
  • Attend JPT meetings – about two in-person meetings per year, and several virtual meetings. 
  • Follow up promptly to communication by e-mail and slack. 
  • Have multiple hours available during the week on multiple days.
