Guidelines for Organising Sustainable Events

Events, regardless of their size, have a social, economic, and environmental impact on the community in which the event takes place. A sustainable event takes these elements into account and aims at minimising the negative impact, while also working towards increasing the positive one.

These guidelines explain how to organise more sustainable small-and large-scale events within the Scout Movement. They are a response to Conference Resolution 2017-10 adopted at the 41st World Scout Conference in Azerbaijan 2017. The guidelines complement global and regional documents that direct the hosts of world and regional events.

Jamboree driven by values

As we get ready for the World Scout Jamboree, we pledge to follow ethical standards, norms, laws, and the internal regulations of the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement. All these principles are based on fundamental values - the Scout Promise and Law.
