The World Scout Jamboree Team is excited to invite volunteers to become Technical Experts (TE) for the upcoming World Scout Jamboree. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of scouting's most significant global events. We are looking to fill 22 volunteer positions across various areas of programme development. We are looking to fill 25 volunteer positions across various areas of programme development:

  • TE01: Lifeguard (1 position)
  • TE02: Mental Health Activities (3 positions)
  • TE03: Pioneering, Orienteering, Topography, Bushcraft (3 positions)
  • TE04: Body, Mind, Spirit, Community, and Environment (6 positions)
  • TE05: Cultural Diversity Workshops (1 position)
  • TE06: Spiritual Development and Cultural Diversity (1 position)
  • TE07: Kayaking (1 position)
  • TE08: Onshore/Aquatic Activities – Maritime Education (1 position)
  • TE09: Sailing/Aquatic Activities (1 position)
  • TE10: Community Engagement and Service (2 positions)
  • TE11: Intercultural Programme (1 position)
  • TE12: Global and Local Citizenship (4 position)

Responsibilities:

Technical Experts will create programme materials and collaborate closely with the Programme Department to plan activities for the Jamboree. They are expected to attend two in-person meetings in Poland, one in June 2024 and another in 2026, with all travel and accommodation costs covered.

Eligibility:

This call is primarily for members of National Scouting Organisations within the World Organization of the Scout Movement. Those outside this criterion should contact us to verify eligibility.

  • A Curriculum Vitae in English, detailing both professional and scouting experiences, with contact details. The Europass format is recommended.
  • A cover letter in English, no longer than four paragraphs, describing your experience, skills, and motivation for applying.
  • An endorsement from the Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner for candidates from Poland, The Scout Association membership confirmation for UK candidates, and an endorsement from the International Commissioner of the WOSM Member Organisation for candidates from other countries.

Selection Process:

All applicants will be contacted after the deadline, with decisions announced by the end of April 2024.

Candidates from the UK at the later stage of the process will be requested to provide endorsement from the UK International Commissioner.
