Become a part of the subcamp leadership team, managing the ISTs responsible for delivering programme activities within your assigned subcamp. As a Subcamp IST Lead, you’ll work closely with the Subcamp Leader, Deputy Subcamp Leaders and unit leaders to support daily programme needs, contribute to free-time activities, and help shape the Scouts’ everyday Jamboree experience. Drawing on programme knowledge from previous World or National Jamborees, you’ll bring confidence, structure, and initiative to your team.
Ahead of the Jamboree you will receive a role-specific training preparing you to guide your IST team throughout the Jamboree. On site, you’ll be fully integrated into subcamp life—camping with your subcamp team, working in scheduled shifts, and ensuring all ISTs receive balanced work and rest time. Your leadership will help deliver international events, support unit leaders with programme details, and ensure that subcamp activities remain engaging, well-coordinated, and safe.
Your work will be essential in creating a vibrant and supportive subcamp atmosphere, helping Scouts enjoy a memorable, meaningful World Scout Jamboree experience. hub management team and help support the daily life of Scouts and leaders across multiple subcamps. As a Hub IST, you’ll work closely with hub leaders to provide flexible, hands-on assistance wherever it’s needed—from practical problem-solving to helping maintain smooth operations throughout the area. Every day will bring new situations and opportunities to apply your practical skills, intercultural leadership, and adaptability.
You’ll camp within your hub alongside your team and take part in the full IST experience, including meals in the IST Dining Hall and access to IST programme activities during your time off. Working in rotating shifts, you’ll help ensure consistent support while maintaining balanced rest periods for all hub ISTs. A key part of your role will be supporting waste management within the hub, ensuring cleanliness, sustainability, and a positive environment for participants and leaders.
Your work will play an essential role in keeping the hub running smoothly, helping subcamps thrive and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming space for the Scouts living there.
