Become a part of the programme team as an Activity Leader in the Bushcraft sector of the Forest Module, where participants will learn practical Scouting techniques and outdoor survival skills. The Forest Module focuses on traditional Scouting methods and is divided into four sectors: Bushcraft, Campcraft, Woodcraft, and Pioneering. Each patrol will complete one activity in each sector during the day.
As a Bushcraft Activity Leader, you will guide patrols through hands-on activities that teach practical skills such as primitive fire lighting, natural cordage, leathercraft, basketry, tracking, or natural navigation. Each activity base hosts up to four patrols per day, and you will be responsible for leading one base, demonstrating techniques, guiding participants through the learning process, and ensuring a safe and engaging experience.
You will also prepare and maintain the materials required for your activity, ensure safety procedures are followed, and help create a meaningful learning experience for participants. Activity Leaders will receive additional training online in the months before the Jamboree and on-site prior to the programme, allowing them to become familiar with the techniques, activity workflow, materials, and the programme area. Activity Leaders may have the opportunity to rotate between different bushcraft activities, gaining broader experience throughout the event.
