Become a part of the transport operations team and help manage one of the busy Jamboree bus terminals in the city. As a City Terminal Manager, you will oversee daily activities at your assigned terminal, ensuring that buses and participants move safely, efficiently, and according to plan.
In this role, you will coordinate the flow of buses and participants, support and guide your team of volunteers, and help maintain a well-organised and safe terminal environment. Team sizes may vary depending on the terminal, ranging from smaller teams to large groups of IST members working together to manage transport operations.
Strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential. You will stay in close contact with other terminal managers and the Transport Operations Team while reporting directly to the Leads of Arrivals and Departures to ensure smooth coordination across all terminals.
– Ability to lead a team of IST members working at a bus terminal and maintain a clear overview of operations
– Ability to allocate IST where they are most needed and ensure everyone understands their tasks
– Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to keep traffic flowing safely and smoothly
– Good organisational and communication skills are important
– Training for the role will begin around three months before the Jamboree
– You should be able to arrive 1 day before IST arrival day and depart 1 day after IST departure day
– Managerial or team-leading experience is desirable
– You may manage up to 100 IST with support from up to two Deputy Bus Terminal Managers
– Good spoken English is required
– Additional WOSM languages (French, Arabic or Spanish) are an advantage
