Job title: Onshore programme coordinator, River Module 

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract  

Duration: From October 2026 until the end of the project in December 2027  

 The River Module is part of the Programme Department of the 26th World Scout Jamboree, Poland 2027.  Within this module participants will have a chance to experience water activities such as sailing and kayaking and onshore (taking place on land) programme focused on environmental protection and maritime culture. The River Module team is looking for motivated and experienced scouts to serve as onshore activities leaders. Each leader will supervise one of the four onshore programme areas, making sure that all activities are run smoothly, resolving problems and working with IST providing the programme. 

Preparatory phase (until July 2027)

• Participate in the ongoing work of the River Module department, supporting base-related tasks as needed
• Help deliver programme content, providing final adjustments if needed
• Attend department meetings (online)
• Take part in IST training assigned to the related programme element

Implementation phase (29 July – 9 August 2027)

• Directly supervise the preparation of the programme area
• Intervene on-site and resolve operational problems, including logistical, communication, and crisis situations
• Prepare IST to deliver the programme
• Support IST in their daily roles
• Resolve logistical and technical problems occurring during the Jamboree
• Ensure all activities comply with the plan, procedures, and programme safety standards

Knowledge and skills

• Strong ability to act independently, take initiative, and make decisions under conditions of incomplete information
• Resilience under pressure and ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
• Communicative English – sufficient for direct contact with international Scout groups
• Open to cultural diversity and working in a multilingual environment
• Familiarity with Scouting values and the spirit of international camps
• Ability to coordinate a group of volunteers
• Interest in environmental and maritime topics

Background experience

• Experience in delivering and supervising programmes during medium-scale events (around 1,000 participants taking part in activities)

Formal requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old at the time of the Jamboree (July 2027)
• Full availability for field deployment from 28 July to 9 August 2027
