Become a part of the Network Technical Subject Matter Expert Team, providing expert-level technical support and leadership in the deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure for the Jamboree. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-performance Internet connectivity, communication systems, and cybersecurity measures across the event site.
You’ll work closely with the network services team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring smooth operation of digital tools for staff, volunteers, and emergency services. Your expertise will ensure the scalability and security of all networks, from wireless access points to critical radio and communication systems.
By leveraging your technical knowledge, you’ll play a key role in supporting real-time operations, keeping the event connected, and maintaining a seamless, secure communication environment for thousands of participants and staff.
Subject matter expertise in building and implementing network equipment, with the support of Field Engineers
Knowledge in one or more of the following domains:
– Backbone and Core Network, including switches, routers, uplinks, and redundancy
– Jamboree site-hosted services (DC)
– WiFi and Access Network, including access point deployment, coverage optimisation, and interference management
– UTP and fibre cabling, including structured cabling, patching, and physical infrastructure
– VoIP telephony, including provisioning and maintaining VoIP handsets, ensuring quality of service, and integration with the PBX
– Automation, including monitoring and deployment automation
Due to the nature of the Jamboree, there may be occasions to work in other areas if needed
Team player
Experience as a subject matter expert in one or more of the listed network domains is strongly desired
Good English communication skills are required
Additional languages are an advantage
