Become a part of the Media Technics Unit supporting the full technical backbone of the Communications and Partnership Division. As a Media Technic Unit Member, you will help provide, maintain, and manage essential equipment such as computers, cameras, cabling, networking devices, and multimedia tools required for smooth media and communication operations throughout the Jamboree.
Your tasks will include preparing and configuring equipment, ensuring device security, monitoring performance, and responding quickly to technical issues to minimise downtime. You will work closely with teams such as In-House Media, the Scout Media Centre, and Graphic & Signage to align technical resources with ongoing production needs and communication objectives.
Media Technics Unit members play a vital role in keeping media workflows running efficiently, offering on-site troubleshooting and maintaining high operational standards. Through your support, the Jamboree will benefit from reliable, seamless, and professional technical services enabling continuous content creation and effective communication across the event.
Ultimately, responsibilities within the Jamboree team will be divided into tasks related to technical coordination, rental coordination, sound and lighting engineering, IT and computer hardware specialist, as well as a systems administrator and service technician.
Strong technical proficiency in managing computers, cameras, networking equipment, and multimedia devices
Ability to configure, maintain, and secure technical and audiovisual equipment
Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues quickly on-site
Knowledge of network stability, connectivity management, and basic IT security principles
Good understanding of multimedia workflows and the technical needs of media production
Capability to manage equipment inventory, storage, and distribution efficiently
Strong organisational skills to ensure equipment is prepared, available, and functioning for all units
Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams such as In-House Media, Scout Media Centre, and Graphic & Signage
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, event-driven environment
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to unexpected technical challenges
