Become a part of the Broadcasting Section within the In-House Media Unit, helping deliver live coverage of the Jamboree to participants on-site and audiences around the world. As part of a large, coordinated team, you will support the preparation, operation, and execution of live broadcasts, including ceremonies, guest interviews, programme features, and Jamboree-wide updates. Your work ensures that global viewers experience the atmosphere, energy, and stories of the event in real time.
Working closely with video, photo, radio, digital media, and newspaper teams, you will contribute to cohesive and engaging multimedia output across official channels such as Facebook and YouTube. Your duties may include operating the prompter, broadcast or stream engineering, moderation, and video or audio production. You will maintain the visual and editorial image of Jamboree while helping to ensure high-quality and reliable broadcasts.
Your contribution will help showcase the Jamboree’s diversity, creativity, and spirit, making it possible for young people, families, and communities worldwide to follow key moments and celebrate the event together.
Ultimately, Jamboree-related responsibilities will be divided within the team into the following roles: broadcast engineer, video engineer, audio engineer, clipper, stream engineer, and moderator.
Proficiency in setup, configuration, and operation of broadcast equipment, including cameras, video switchers, and signal routing systems
Ability to manage and maintain stable audio/video signal flow during multi-camera live productions
Strong understanding of streaming technologies and protocols (e.g., RTMP, SRT) and their practical implementation
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in real time during live broadcasts
Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and encoding settings to ensure optimal stream quality
Ability to configure and monitor streaming software and hardware (e.g., OBS, vMix, encoders)
Understanding of network fundamentals (IP configuration, bandwidth management) in a broadcast environment
Experience with audio systems setup, including microphones, mixers, and signal balancing
Ability to perform pre-event technical checks, system testing, and equipment maintenance
Attention to detail to ensure high technical quality and reliability of live transmission
Experience in a similar position at a Scouting or commercial event
English communication skills; other languages are an advantage
