From 19 to 23 July 2025, Vienna became the beating heart of European Scouting and Guiding. More than 500 delegates from 44 countries gathered for the 25th European Scout Conference and the 18th European Guide Conference, united under the theme Meeting in the Middle to celebrate collaboration, unity, and a shared vision for the future.

The conference was filled with inspiring workshops, engaging discussions, and decision-making sessions, where participants tackled some of today’s most pressing challenges: peace, sustainability, youth leadership, and social responsibility. Key highlights included the election of the new European Scout Committee and the adoption of the Regional Scout Plan 2025–2028, which will guide the movement in the years to come.

Poland and Gdańsk in the Spotlight

For us, the gathering carried a very special significance – it was officially confirmed that the 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Gdańsk in 2027!

We proudly presented the progress made so far in preparations and shared some exciting updates:

  • already more than 21,000 Scouts and volunteers from across the globe have signed up,

  • we have established strong partnerships with the Polish government and local authorities, who are actively supporting the event,

  • a global fundraising campaign, the Solidarity Operation, will soon be launched to support participation by young people from all backgrounds.

We also hosted a booth where delegates could meet us, ask questions, and talk about the future of Scouting. Thank you for every conversation and every smile – face-to-face meetings always inspire us to work with even more energy and determination!

Europe Chooses Its Future

Alongside the announcements about the Jamboree in Poland, the conference also brought important decisions for the whole European Scouting family:

  • Roverway 2028 will be hosted in Switzerland,

  • The 26th European Scout Conference will take place in Italy.

These choices underline the continued growth and vitality of Scouting across Europe, with each event strengthening connections and offering new opportunities to make a positive impact.

Together Towards 2027

Taking part in the Vienna conference was a truly inspiring experience. Together with hundreds of young people from all over the continent, we reaffirmed that Scouting stands for courage, service, and cooperation beyond borders. With this spirit, we are moving forward with preparations to ensure that the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdańsk will be a life-changing event for every participant.

We look forward to seeing you at upcoming gatherings – and most of all, in Gdańsk in 2027!
