Role Description

Job title: Lead of Guest Services Section, Jamboree Planning Team

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract

Duration: From August 2024 until the end of the project in December

Department description :

The mission of the team is to design and deliver a concept that will support the smooth running of the event and then recruit and lead a team of outstanding scouts from around the world to deliver this concept.

The “Guest Services” Team lead will develop a concept of how this team will operate as the first point of contact for all Jamboree attendees, this team will be the font of all knowledge and be the eyes and ears of the operations team

The first task of the successful applicant will be to decide on a name for the team which fully describes the function that it will carry out.

The ideal candidates for the Team Leader, Guest Services, will possess a unique blend of skills, experience, and personal attributes that enable them to effectively lead and manage the “Guest Services” Team for the 26th World Scout Jamboree.


  • Availability to travel to Jamboree site/Poland (min. 2 times/year),or attend the JMT meeting
  • Regular meetings as required to support the development of your team
  • Monthly department meetings to share developments among the wider team.
  • 2 hours a week developing and growing the team and its policies/procedures.

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements:

  • active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)
  • completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwi / Naczelnik ZHP)
  • positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)
  • ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements:

  • Active membership in one of the organizations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)
  • a favorable opinion from the International Commissioner
  • positive experience of projects at international level
