Department description
The International Service Team Support (IST) is responsible for aiding the International Service Team with resources and activities that help them effectively contribute to the Jamboree’s success, while fostering personal growth, community, and enjoyment.
Section description
The Training & Development Section is responsible for ensuring the effective engagement, training, and growth of International Service Team (IST) members before, during, and after the Jamboree. This includes designing mandatory pre-event trainings and role-specific preparations, coordinating on-site orientation, and leading the IST Academy – a dedicated space for workshops and personal development opportunities. The section also develops and implements a motivational and recognition system to value IST members’ contributions, ensuring their efforts are acknowledged while fostering learning, resilience, and leadership.
Responsibilities
· Coordinate the design and delivery of IST training across all phases (pre-event online, on-site, and post-event reflection).
· Support the development of a motivational and recognition system for IST members, including awards and competency-based certification tools.
· Contribute to the creation and rollout of the IST Academy, a workshop and development hub during the Jamboree offering optional learning experiences.
· Collaborate with JPT members, departments, and external experts to ensure quality and consistency of training content.
· Monitor and evaluate training and development activities to ensure alignment with learning objectives and IST needs.
Commitments
· Attending IST Support Department Meetings, which will be mostly virtual.
· Attending JPT meetings – maximum two in-person meetings per year, and several virtual meetings.
· Following up promptly to communication by email and Slack.
· Arriving at the Jamboree site several days before the event and staying one or more days after IST’s leave.
· Dedicate regular time to section’s tasks and deadlines
· Collaborate across international and multicultural teams with flexibility and adaptability
Knowledge and skills
· Strong communication and teamwork skills in an international and multicultural environment
· Ability to design, deliver, or coordinate trainings and workshops
· Familiarity with adult learning principles, experiential education, and facilitation methods
· Good organizational and time management abilities
· Creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset
Background Experience
· Experience in training, facilitation, or volunteer development (Scouting or professional)
· Participation in a large international Scouting event at least at IST level
· Involvement in international or large-scale projects
· Previous engagement in educational initiatives within Scouting or youth organizations
· Familiarity with digital tools for online collaboration (e.g. Microsoft 365)

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements:
· active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)
· completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwii / Naczelnik ZHP)
· positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)
· ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

· Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)
