Role Description

Job title: Member of the Kaleidoscope Module, Programme Department

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract

Duration: From February 2026 until the end of the project in December 2027

The Programme Department will create a timetable for the team’s work and plan the programme framework for the Jamboree 2027, based on the programme proposal prepared as part of the ZHP Candidacy presented at the 2021 World Scout Conference.

The Kaleidoscope Module is one of the 8 Programme modules that the participants at the 26th WSJ are invited to take part in. It runs for a full day in two blocks: from 9.30 to 12.30 and from 14.00 to 17.00. However, taking part of the module is completely optional for the patrols.

At its core, the Kaleidoscope Module is a self-planned day devoted to self-balance. It introduces the idea of “Self-balance”, and advocates for a balanced life around 5 elements: Body, Mind, Spirit, Community, and Environment. Participants will be invited to complete a self-assessment tool at the beginning of the module (in the form of a small booklet), and the result of this first tool will be a recommendation of which of the 5 concepts they should focus on for the day. However, none of the 5 elements can be torn apart from its whole, and that’s why all the activities that the participants can find in the module will be related to two of the 5 elements, making 10/15 different “areas” for activities.

The activities at the Kaleidoscope Module aim to fulfil the following educational goals:

  • To spark the devotion to self-development (practising non-cognitive transferable skills: creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking, adapting to changes, practising Scoutcraft).
  • To learn how to maintain self-balance (managing an individual mix of educational and professional, friends and family, interests and passions, social engagement etc., activities to lead a full and happy life).

As the Member of the Kaleidoscope module unit, you will play a crucial role in both the planning and execution stages of the project.
