Role Description

Position: Member, Knowledge Management & Transfer

Type of Engagement: Voluntary contract

Duration: September 2023 through December 2027 (minimum commitment to December 2025)
  • Collaborate with various Jamboree departments and teams to gather insights, best practices, and lessons learned from the previous World Scouting Events.
  • Design, implement, and monitor a structured knowledge sharing process tailored to the unique needs of the Jamboree Planning Team.
  • Develop a central repository or knowledge base where insights, lessons learned, and best practices from previous Jamborees can be easily accessed.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions, workshops, or meetings, ensuring active participation and comprehensive documentation.
  • Build and nurture a culture of continuous learning within the Jamboree Planning Team, emphasising the value of knowledge transfer.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the knowledge sharing processes, continuously refining and adapting based on feedback and changing needs.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including past event organisers, to enrich the knowledge base with diverse insights.
  • Ensure that the knowledge management system adheres to World Scouting guidelines and standards.
  • Act as a liaison with other World Scouting Events, ensuring the forward transfer of the Jamboree’s insights to future organisers.

Applicant Profile

  • Strong alignment with the values and principles of Scouting.
  • Proven experience in knowledge management, preferably in event management or large-scale projects.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to facilitate group discussions and workshops.
  • A collaborative mindset, coupled with a proactive approach.
  • Fluency in English.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Familiarity with best practices in knowledge transfer and organisational learning.
  • Ability to synthesise complex information and present it in an accessible and actionable manner.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of World Scouting operations and previous World Scout Jamborees is a plus.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams and adapt to the changing needs of the Jamboree Planning Team.

The Member, Knowledge Management and Transfer role is pivotal to ensure that the World Scout Jamboree Poland 2027 benefits from the experiences of past World Scouting Events and lays a strong foundation for future events.
