Job title: Co-lead, Scout Media Centre Unit, Communication Department

Nature of engagement: Volunteer contract

Duration: from December 2025 until the project in December 2027 or earlier

The Scout Media Centre Co-Leads will work together. Co-Leads will be responsible for ongoing communications and supporting CMT members responsible for promotion. During the Jamboree itself, Co-Leads will manage the Scout Media Centre – a space for CMT responsible for promotion to work and exchange experiences.

Responsibilities

1. Responding to the ongoing promotional and communication needs of contingents
2. Supporting contingents in developing communication
3. Maintaining ongoing contact with those responsible for promotion in contingents
4. Creating a Scout Media Centre during the Jamboree
5. Cooperating on behalf of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP) and the 26th World Scout Jamboree on the 2027 Communication Forum, organized on behalf of WOSM.

 

Knowledge and skills

• English skills sufficient to communicate fluently
• Teamwork and project management skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
• People-oriented approach
• Ability to work on several processes simultaneously and excellently organize one’s own work
• Independence and initiative

Background Experience

• Positive experience in projects at least at the district level

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements:

• active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP)
• completed leader’s service in the previous year and an opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner (Komendant Hufca / Komendant Chorągwi / Naczelnik ZHP)
• positive experience of projects at least at regional level (domestic)
• ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements:

• Active membership in one of the organisations belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)
• a favourable opinion from the International Commissioner
• positive experience of projects at international level
• ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English

As a member of the Jamboree Planning Team (JPT), you’ll be vital to creating this exceptional scout event. We’re dedicated to supporting you fully, providing:

• comprehensive support from the People Department for personal and professional growth, including access to JPT Academy sessions and workshops
• a volunteer agreement outlining your contributions and responsibilities
• arrangements for in-person meetings in Poland, covering transportation, accommodation, and visa costs
• a jamboree-specific email address and access to tools like Microsoft 365 and Slack for effective communication
• a Planning Team kit including scarf, T-shirt and other jamboree related merch
• a volunteer certificate at the end of your volunteer journey, acknowledging your contribution and dedication

IMPORTANT!
We plan to employ two people for this position, including one who will be of Polish nationality.
