What you should expect

The HMS Co-Lead Medical Coordination Center (MCC) is responsible for co-planning, organizing, and overseeing the full operational functioning of the central medical coordination structure during the Jamboree. This role ensures continuous situational awareness, effective tasking of medical teams, and smooth communication across all HMS components. The Co-Lead works in partnership with the MCC Lead to maintain real-time oversight of medical activities, resource allocation, incident reporting, and decision-making processes that support safe and efficient operations.
The position requires strong coordination skills, the ability to manage high-information environments, and readiness to support the entire medical system throughout a large international event. The Co-Lead MCC plays a key role in developing coordination procedures before the event and ensuring their effective implementation once operations begin.

Applicant Profile

  • Documented experience in medical or emergency coordination supported by valid leadership, command, or coordination certificates authorizing work within national and/or international response structures.
  • Experience in coordination, command, control, or leadership roles within medical, emergency, or humanitarian operations.
  • Ability to co-develop and implement coordination procedures, communication pathways, and incident response workflows for HMS.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to process large amounts of information quickly and accurately.
  • Competence in managing operational communication with clinics, field medical teams, logistics, safeguarding, and event command structures.
  • Communicative command of English (required) and Polish (preferred for local coordination).
  • High responsibility, reliability, and ability to work under time pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills to support smooth decision-making and operational flow.
IMPORTANCE OF COLLABORATION AND SUPPORT
The Co-Lead MCC works directly with all HMS units to ensure coherent and timely coordination across the system. Effective collaboration with clinical teams, logistics, safeguarding, and Jamboree leadership is essential for maintaining safety, rapid response capability, and an organized medical environment.
