The mission of the Department is to support the International Service Team with resources and activities that help them effectively contribute to the Jamboree’s success, while fostering personal growth, community, and enjoyment.
The two leads of the IST Support Department will collaborate with the Jamboree Management Team and the other Head of Departments.
The IST – General function serves as the foundational support system for the International Service Team (IST), ensuring they have everything they need to contribute effectively to the Jamboree: Resource Allocation: Providing the IST with necessary tools, equipment, and materials to perform their roles efficiently. Communication: Establishing clear communication channels for the IST to receive updates, ask questions, and provide feedback. Wellbeing: Ensuring the physical and mental wellbeing of IST members by offering relaxation zones, counseling services, and other support mechanisms. Feedback Loop: Regularly gathering feedback from IST members to continuously refine and improve support services.
The IST – Programmes function focuses on offering a range of activities tailored for the IST, ensuring they not only contribute to the Jamboree but also grow personally and enjoy their experience: Skill Development: Organizing workshops and activities that allow IST members to acquire new skills or hone existing ones. Cultural Exchange: Facilitating programs that promote intercultural understanding and bonding among IST members from different countries. Recreational Activities: Offering a mix of fun and relaxation activities, from sports tournaments to movie nights, ensuring IST members have opportunities to unwind. Community Building: Organising team-building exercises and group activities that foster a sense of community and brotherhood among IST members.
The IST – Training function is dedicated to ensuring that every IST member is well-prepared to play their part in the Jamboree’s success: Orientation: Conducting orientation sessions for new IST members to familiarise them with the Jamboree’s objectives, values, and operations. Role-specific Training: Providing specialized training based on the specific roles and responsibilities of IST members, ensuring they are equipped to handle their tasks. Safety and Security: Offering training on safety protocols, emergency response, and other critical aspects to ensure the wellbeing of Jamboree participants and IST members. Continuous Learning: Organising refresher courses and advanced training sessions throughout the Jamboree to address any emerging needs or challenges.
The ideal candidates will possess a unique blend of skills, experience, and personal attributes that enable them to effectively lead and manage the massive-volunteer operation of the International Service Team for the 26th World Scout Jamboree.
