Department description   

The Programme Department plans the programme framework for the World Scout Jamboree 2027.  

  

The 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland is looking for an energetic and skilled Beatboxing Instructor to train and inspire members of the International Service Team (IST) assigned to the Music Activity. You’ll lead creative workshops focused on beatboxing fundamentals and performance, equipping IST members with the confidence and skills to deliver engaging music-based experiences for thousands of scouts from around the world. All engagement until the Jamboree will take place online. 

What you should expect

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver interactive beatboxing workshops for IST members with varying musical backgrounds. 
  • Teach core beatboxing techniques (e.g., kick, snare, hi-hat, bass, vocal effects) and rhythm skills. 
  • Provide IST with tools to lead basic beatboxing activities for youth during the Jamboree. 
  • Collaborate with the music team to integrate beatboxing into wider musical performances or jam sessions. 
  • Support IST in using beatboxing as a tool for cultural exchange, self-expression, and fun. 
  • Offer guidance on using microphones, loop stations, or group rhythm structures (if applicable). 

Applicant Profile

Knowledge and skills:  

  • Friendly, patient, and adaptable communication style. 
  • Ability to energise a group, build rapport, and encourage participation regardless of skill level. 
  • Understanding of scouting values and the collaborative spirit of international camps (preferred but not required). 
  • Open to cultural diversity and working in a multilingual, dynamic environment. 

 

Background experience:  

  • Strong background in beatboxing, vocal percussion, or hip-hop music. 
  • Prior experience teaching workshops or leading creative sessions, ideally with youth or volunteers.

Applicants from Poland should meet the following requirements:   

  • Active membership in the Polish Scouting & Guiding Association (ZHP). 
  • Completed leader’s service in the previous year and a positive opinion of the relevant Regional Commissioner or Chief Commissioner. 
  • Positive experience of projects at least at the regional level (domestic).  
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.   

Applicants from abroad should meet the following requirements:   

  • Active membership in an organisation belonging to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).   
  • A favourable opinion from the International Commissioner (see How to Apply).   
  • Positive experience of projects at the international level.   
  • Ability to communicate freely in spoken and written English.
